1. About our service

Home Solar Guide is an independent information service. We provide educational content about solar panels, free online tools (savings calculator, suitability checker), and a quote matching service that connects homeowners with MCS-certified solar installers. We do not install solar panels ourselves.

2. Estimates are indicative

All figures provided by our calculator and guides are estimates based on publicly available data and standard assumptions. They are not guaranteed. Actual costs, savings, and performance will vary depending on your specific property, location, installer, and many other factors. You should always obtain a professional site survey and written quote from an MCS-certified installer before making any purchasing decision.

3. Not financial or legal advice

The information on this site is provided for general guidance only. It does not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice. If you require specific advice relating to your circumstances, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

4. Quote matching service

When you request quotes through our site:

  • We share your details with up to 3 MCS-certified installers in your area.
  • Any contract for solar panel installation is between you and the installer. Home Solar Guide is not a party to any such contract.
  • We take reasonable care in selecting installer partners, but we do not guarantee the quality, pricing, or reliability of any installer.
  • You should carry out your own due diligence before entering into any agreement with an installer.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including text, graphics, tools, and code, is the property of Home Solar Guide unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written consent.

6. Accuracy of information

We make every effort to ensure the information on this site is accurate and up to date. However, we do not warrant that the site content is error-free or complete. Energy prices, government schemes, and installation costs change regularly. We update our content periodically but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home Solar Guide accepts no liability for:

  • Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information provided on this site.
  • Any loss or damage arising from the actions or omissions of third-party installers you are connected with through our service.
  • Any inaccuracy in our estimates or calculations.
  • Any interruption to or unavailability of the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.
